Louisville Science Pathways (LSP) is a competitive research internship program, which runs for 8 weeks beginning shortly after the academic school year. This program offers students a hands-on research experience working with researchers both on the Belknap and Health Sciences Campuses. The goal is to enroll students who have an interest in the sciences, but are not already adorned with experience. This is an opportunity to those students who may not feel qualified for the more competitive programs which offer a stipend and a poster project.

LSP students gave final presentations on what they learned during their internship. Topics included biochemical engineering, neuroscience, ecology, electrochemistry, molecular biology and cardiovascular medicine.
Check out what our past participants thought!
“I liked that I could experience a research lab first-hand”
“I think it’s great students get to get a taste of exactly what they want to do in college”
"Anyone interested in science would be stupid not to partake in LSP, the experience is second to none."
“I like the opportunity it gives to those who desire to work within a science field. That alone already makes the program highly academic.”
“It was really neat to hear from a variety of people in different places career wise during the professional development panel, and share about how they got where they are.”
“This a wonderful opportunity to work and research in some labs that will grant you experience in that field of research. If you are looking for such experience, LSP is the way to go.”
